Nexus was an ambitious project that began during the 2020 Global Game Jam and then continued by my third year team. We worked on this project for 3 months and our end product proved that after finding the right project for the team we could work together well and complete the task at hand.

Nexus is a Battle Royale that replaces the encroaching death wall with a death timer. if the timer reaches zero, you die. You can extend your time by killing other players and picking up time boxes that are scattered across the arena.

I was the designer on this project and worked on level design, game mechanics and implementation. This project was developed in Unity though we knew Unreal was more suited to first person shooters.

​

If I could revisit aspects of the game I undoubtedly would as nothing is ever perfect especially as Coronavirus Lockdown meant that the crucial last 6 weeks I was unable to contribute to the project directly in engine.

​

As it stands now Nexus is playable and can host up to 12 people in a lobby.
